PEP South

Tentative: St. Andrews State Park

Panama City, FL

Hosting a PEP competition in Panama City would strengthen the Gulf Coast supplier network that supports Navy acquisition programs by creating new opportunities for collaboration among industry, academia, and government. The Gulf Coast region contains a diverse maritime ecosystem that includes shipyards, marine technology companies, advanced manufacturers, and defense contractors supporting surface warfare and expeditionary capabilities. Multiple PEP champions already came from this region (Texas A&M, Alabama, and Auburn), and we are certain we can deepen the talent pool in this growing maritime manufacturing area.

Through sponsorship, mentoring, technical demonstrations, recruiting activities, and workforce engagement, regional companies could identify future employees while showcasing emerging technologies aligned with PAE Maritime’s emphasis on rapid capability delivery and innovation. The competition’s focus on electric propulsion, autonomous systems, advanced materials, digital design tools, and systems engineering mirrors many of the technologies shaping the future fleet. A Gulf Coast PEP event would reduce workforce shortages, encourage industry investment, strengthen supplier relationships, and accelerate the development of the skilled workforce needed to deliver a more capable and ready Navy at the speed required by today’s operational environment.
